A quick look in the drivers compared to a working device shows that the device is missing the Surface Type Cover Filter Device driver in the keyboard tab. That may mean there is a corresponding difference in the.inf files. There is evidence in there that devices get removed for some reason. I looked under keyboards in device manager and there is no surface cover type listed. There are four HID keyboard devices listed. I looked at their properties and none of them seemed relevant and they were all working properly. Booting up to the UEFI shows a Type Cover listed there; I disabled, rebooted, and enabled it with no result. I have manually updated the HID Keyboard Device to both the 'Surface Type Cover Filter Device' and the 'Surface Touch Cover Filter Device' and neither worked. I'm out of ideas. I really need this for the last couple weeks of school and I can't type on the touch screen fast enough to keep in the class or let alone just type an essay I have due.
Sometime within the last 1-2 weeks my Surface Pro's type cover stopped working. Device Manager shows a failed 'type cover' device under Other Devices (with an exclamation point on it). I don't think it's a hardware issue because if I hold down Power and Volume Up to get into the UEFI screen then my Type Cover keyboard arrows work fine to navigate the menus. The package provides the installation files for Microsoft Surface 3 Type Cover Integration Driver version 1.1.363.0. If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version. Hello, after (glitched update) my keyboard, volume etc stopped working. I did a full reinstall of OS and volume up + power button for a few seconds. Now volume button is working. Type cover keyboard is not working only the damn touchpad. In device manager i have exclamation mark.
- Per https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...ubleshoot-your-surface-type-cover-or-keyboard I've tried uninstalling it and letting the driver re-install, but it just beeps continuously until I disconnect the type cover and then the Device Manager shows the same Other Devices failed device.
- I also tried going to Microsoft Download Center and re-installing the latest Surface Pro drivers software. No change.
- I also tried System Restore to go back to a system version from a couple days ago. No change.
Controlador Surface Type Cover Filter Device Driver
Besides going to a Microsoft Store are there any other suggestions? Has anyone else had a Type Cover issue after a recent Windows Update?Download Driver Surface Type Cover Filter Device
I own a surface pro 3 running on OS Windows 10.
It's on version: 1703 (Os Build 15063.540).
Recently my Type Cover Keyboard stopped working. I then looked at the 'Device Manager' to check the driver and saw that the Type Cover Driver is missing. This is probably the reason why SP3 does not recognize the keyboard. I tried looking for a downloadable driver for this but i could not find one. I also tried following every alternative solutions that I can see from the internet and nothing seems to have worked for me. I even came across a forum in microsoft, wherein someone reported a similar issue but we are all waiting for an answer from Microsoft. Then I saw this Forum, maybe one of you guys might have encountered the same problem and is able to find a working solution that I can try.
Hope to hear from you guys here.
Thanks!
