1. Download the installer from IS&T.
2. Double-click the downloaded zip file to decompress it.You'll have a folder with Installer pkg and a Serializer pkg.

Applies to: Office 2019 for Mac The Volume Serializer (VL) is used to activate Office 2019 for Mac as a volume licensed version. It's an approximately 4 mb package file that you run on a user's computer, either before or after you've installed Office. Download the Volume License (VL) Serializer from the VLSC. This download contains an executable file that extracts and installs KMS host license files. These license files are required for the KMS host service to recognize KMS host keys for Office 2019, Project 2019, and Visio 2019. You can use the same KMS host key to set up Active Directory-based activation.

Microsoft 2019 Mac

1. Double-click the Microsoft_Office_16.20.18120801_Installer.pkg icon.
   Result: The installer launches:

First time running office

Applies to: Office 2019 for Mac The Volume Serializer (VL) is used to activate Office 2019 for Mac as a volume licensed version. It's an approximately 4 mb package file that you run on a user's computer, either before or after you've installed Office. Download the Volume License (VL) Serializer from the VLSC. Once the download is complete, double-click to open the Office2016Mac.iso file and run the installer package - MicrosoftOffice2016VLSerializer.pkg. Launch any Office app, like Word. In the top menu, select Word About Word.

1. Click Get Started
   Result: You are asked to optionally sign in to your Microsoft account:

3. Click Start Using Word.
   Result: You might be prompted to install updates, if any are available. If so, follow the prompts:
   
4. Click Install. If you're prompted for authentication, enter your user name and password again.

5. Accept the defaults and click Check for Updates. You might be prompted to install one or more updates in succession. Follow the prompts until no more updates are available.
6. Microsoft Office for Mac 2019 is now ready for use.
